How we calculate it
Surgery and hospital expenses come from our pricing dataset: published market ranges, replaced with our own negotiated hospital quotes as they are confirmed, and reviewed every three months.
Flights assume an economy return with about three weeks' notice, for each traveller. Accommodation assumes a serviced apartment within about two kilometres of the hospital, twin occupancy, for the recovery period that procedure actually needs. Food and local transport assume meals for two, transport to every appointment, and interpretation where you need it.
What this calculator cannot know
It does not know your medical history, and that is the largest variable in any estimate. It cannot predict complications, extra days in intensive care, or what a pre-operative test might uncover. It cannot know what your surgeon will recommend once they have read your reports.

Why we built it
Because it is the question every patient asks and almost nobody answers. A hospital can tell you what surgery costs. Only someone who arranges the whole trip knows what the trip costs, and we would rather show you that number now than have you discover it in instalments.
