Editorial policy
Everything on this site is written in-house, checked against published medical and government sources, reviewed by a registered medical practitioner before publication where it touches clinical matters, and re-reviewed at least every three months. Every page shows the date it was last reviewed.
Who writes this
Healthaford's editorial team. We are not doctors, and we do not write as though we are. Our expertise is in medical travel: hospital pricing, logistics, visas, and what actually happens to patients who come here. Clinical information is drawn from published sources and attributed to them.
What we check against
Clinical statements are checked against recognised sources: peer-reviewed literature via PubMed, the World Health Organization, India's ICMR and NABH, and the published patient information of major hospitals including Fortis, Apollo, Medanta, Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic. Where we rely on one of these we link to it, so you can read the original rather than take our word for it.
We do not copy from these sources. We read them, check our facts against them, and write our own.
Prices come from our pricing dataset, compiled from published market data and from the quotes our own partner hospitals give us. Prices are reviewed quarterly.
How often we review
| Content | Reviewed |
|---|---|
| Prices | Every 3 months |
| Visa and immigration rules | Every 3 months, and immediately when rules change |
| Clinical content | Every 6 months |
| Hospital and doctor details | Every 6 months |
The review date on each page is the date it was genuinely last checked. If a page says July, someone read it in July.
What we will not publish
Standing exclusions
- Any claim that a treatment cures or guarantees an outcome
- Success rates or survival figures as our own claim. Where we cite them, they are attributed, dated, and given with the number of patients they are based on
- Patient photographs, including before-and-after images, and including with consent
- Any patient's identifiable details
- Reviews or testimonials we cannot verify. If we have not treated enough patients to have real ones, we publish none
- Statistics about ourselves, such as patients helped or countries served, that we cannot evidence on request
- Rankings of "best" doctors or hospitals based on our commercial relationships
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us at care@healthaford.com and we will check it. If we got it wrong we will fix it, note the correction and the date at the foot of the page, and reply to you.
We would rather be corrected than be wrong quietly.
